After Jesus was born the Wise men visited him.

On the  way they had asked King Herod where they could find him.

The King wanted to find out where he was so he could kill him.

So Joseph was told to take his family to safety so they fled into Egypt.

We do not know how long the family remained in Egypt.

Eventually they returned to Nazareth.
