Assessment Students will: Research a famous figure who is inspirational because of their service to humanity Make a 5 minute (max) presentation to the class Be scored by the other students according to the assessment criteria Be prepared to explain why a presentation is good and what could be done to improve it 1. Factual Information Level 3: a few key events of the hero’s life are mentioned Level 4: several details and facts are mentioned Level 5: well presented details are given Level 6: well organised and detailed presentation Level 7: highly organised showing detailed research 2. Reasons for choosing this hero Level 3: one reason is briefly stated Level 4: more than one reason is stated Level 5: clear explanation why the hero was chosen Level 6: good reasons given with some justification Level 7: well argued justification for choice of hero 3. Analysing the Hero’s Inspiration and Motivation Level 3: basic fact about what influenced them in their life Level 4: understanding of what motivated the hero Level 5: reasons given to explain what inspired them showing cause and effect Level 6: a detailed analysis of who and what drove them to achieve what they did Level 7: a detailed analysis of who and what motivated them showing contrasting views
4. Effect and Influence of Hero’s life
Level 3: a brief statement of why the hero has become famous Level 4: a clear description of how their life and work has been remembered Level 5: a clear explanation for why the hero has lasting and significant influence on others Level 6: the impact of their life is analysed and evaluated with reasons given Level 7: a detailed and well argued analysis and evaluation of their life showing contrasting points of view
